DC Anantnag chairs meeting of Single Window Committee of Mining Leases

Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Dr. Bilal Mohiuddin Bhat on Wednesday chaired a meeting of the District Level Single Window Committee at his office chambers, to review and facilitate the execution of mining leases in the district.

 

The meeting was attended by ADC, SE Hydraulics, ACR, Wildlife Warden South Kashmir, DFOs Anantnag and Lidder Divisions, Chief Agriculture Officer, District Horticulture Officer, District Soil Conservation Officer, District Mineral Officer, Executive Engineers of Irrigation/Flood Control, PHE, PWD and KPDCL, Assistant Directors of Fisheries and Tourism, and District Officer Pollution Control Committee, among others.

 

During the meeting, elaborate deliberations were held on issuance of no objection certificates post obtaining clearances from all stakeholder departments and on issues related to the execution of mining leases with respect to 34 major mineral blocks identified in the district. Various procedural and departmental aspects were discussed to ensure timely and smooth processing of cases.

 

The ADC briefed the chair that NOCs from all concerned departments have been received while certain queries have been raised by the Forest Department and some cases have been flagged by the Irrigation and R&B Departments.

 

The DC stressed the importance of inter-departmental coordination and timely disposal of cases to facilitate transparent and efficient execution of mining leases.

 

He directed the concerned officers to strictly adhere to the prescribed rules and guidelines and ensure that all necessary formalities are completed within set timelines.

 

The DC further instructed that the process should be carried out in a transparent and accountable manner, while ensuring environmental safeguards and regulatory compliance.

 

After thorough deliberations, it was decided that the concerned departments shall address the queries raised, at the earliest for further processing of the cases.
